The Bible is not a story about Jesus’ journey to the cross; instead, it is a story about God’s Kingdom and mankind’s role in that Kingdom. Due to our rebellion, we forfeited our role in God’s Kingdom, but God is not content to relinquish what He began. Instead, He has chosen to redeem His creation and to restore mankind as His representative rulers over creation. It is for this reason that Jesus began an insurgence more than 2,000 years ago.
