Little did I know what was about to unfold when I urgently called us to prayer during the month of September in my last blog. Reflecting on the recent events described below, let’s finish this month interceding for our nation like never before.
The passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg from this life on September 18 has increased my resolve to pray for our Supreme Court. Ginsburg promoted the leftist Marxist ideology of the ACLU throughout her law career, including her 27 years as a Supreme Court justice. Indeed, she provided legal council for the ACLU for 7 years. She also rejected God’s purposes for protecting life by ardently holding to the aborting of the yet-to-be born. Now, after decades of God’s people peacefully protesting abortion and promoting life, as well as meeting for zillions of hours in prayer, it is possible that the most cruel law of the land will be overturned. Incredibly, the seat now left open by one of the Supreme Court justices most opposed to God’s moral laws may soon be filled by someone who holds biblical values.
The possibility of a godly person being confirmed to the Supreme Court is not the only reason to pray and fast. More and more videos are circulating, showing why the Black Lives Matter movement (BLM) must be exposed and utterly rejected. In June, college professor and BLM Los Angeles founder Melina Abdullah, recorded a discussion on Facebook live with BLM founder Patrisse Cullors. One of their primary discussion points revolved around their experience in calling up spirits from the dead. They described these spirits as having personalities and as beings through whom they receive strength to accomplish their work. Of course, spiritism, the occult, and talking to the dead are strictly forbidden by God (Deut. 18:9–14). Let’s pray that Christians will replace BLM in showing the nation what racial reconciliation looks like.
In addition, Cullors and one of her BLM co-founders, Alicia Garza, have each publicly declared themselves to be trained Marxists., The destruction brought into our cities by Cullors, Garza, and their followers is rooted in Marxism. This is why Black Lives Matter and Antifa have not only burned white owned establishments, but many minority owned businesses. And this is why black-on-black-violence rose dramatically with the rise of BLM. This seemingly irrational response—the alleged oppressed minority group killing each other—only makes sense if something else is at play. That something else is proving to be the beginning of a Marxist revolution. Realizing that BLM is motivated by Marxist ideology, one must ask, “If President Trump is re-elected, will these flames of revolution turn into an uncontained forest fire of hate and destruction?” Let’s pray against such a devastating uprising.
Asking God to intervene in our nation is critical right now for other reasons too:
- The father of lies is doing his best to dupe our entire nation through the mainstream media’s “peaceful protest” narrative when the price tag on the physical damage has already exceeded 1 billion dollars, not to mention the dozens of lives that have been lost.
- As of this month, the erroneous 1619 Project’s re-imagining of our history is now being taught in our public schools, which will only engender racial division.
- Instead of holding all sex offenders to a higher standard, the mainstreaming of pedophilia is in full swing with California Governor Newsom having signed a bill into law on September 11 that relaxes laws requiring homosexual pedophilia offenders be registered as sex offenders.
- Although the COVID recovery rate is at least 99.7% for the young and healthy, Dr. Fauci and the mainstream media continue to keep many living in irrational fear.
There are a few days left in September. I encourage those of you who have dedicated this month to prayer to finish strong. And I encourage those who have been distracted, to refocus your daily routine on seeking God for our nation. But these issues are not likely to be resolved in the waning days of this month. Will you join me in continuing to seek the Lord on behalf of our nation in the months ahead? Will you continue to set apart time daily to seek the Lord’s favor for our country. Can we commit to doing what the Lord has told us to do all along? Can we actively humble ourselves, love Him with all of our hearts, turn from our wicked ways individually and nationally, cry out to Him for mercy, walk in faith, and speak the truth on every topic?
These are challenging days, and it is likely that greater difficulty lays ahead for America. If it is challenging for the righteous, how much more challenging must it be for those who have little understanding of God and the spiritual battle that has come upon us? This is why it is also important to cry out to God for those who are spiritually lost and to look for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them.
We need prayer now more than ever. Whether it’s sharing the gospel, praying for the next Supreme Court justice, speaking the truth about BLM and COVID-19, or crying out to God day and night for mercy for our nation, it is go-time for prayer warriors in America.
*Note: The Return is almost here! Based on 2 Chronicles 7:14, Christian leaders are calling our nation to return to God. This gathering will be held this Saturday, September 26, from the Mall in Washington D.C. If you are unable to attend, make arrangements to join a simulcast in your area.
